Oink, Oink! Happy Year of the Pig!
When you think of a pig what comes to mind? According to Dictionary.com it could be someone who is gluttonous, very fat, greedy, selfish, or filthy. Not exactly positive connotations. Forget about it. According to the Chinese astrological calendar, Pigs are one of the most honorable and virtuous of the 12 signs. The Pig is also the last of the 12 signs so maybe it's a case of saving the best for last. People born under the sign of the Pig are said to be honest, hard working and popular. They are peacemakers who strive to bring about harmony and justice. They do not hold grudges. They tend to be sociable, happy and well adjusted, not to mention generous with their resources. Their weakness is that they can be too trusting and may get taken advantage of because of their trusting nature.
If we apply the qualities of the Pig to this year ahead we will find it to be a good one for networking and building alliances socially or at work. Obstacles and setbacks can be overcome with grace, diligence and hard work along with faith in the basic goodness of human nature. It will be important to balance work with pleasure while being careful to avoid being taken advantage of. It's a good time to strive for peace and justice by building harmonious relationships and putting aside past differences just so long as we don't get fooled again!
