Year of the Tiger
Goodbye year of the Ox; Hello Year of the Tiger (and I don't mean Tiger Woods). While many of us are not unhappy to see the Year of the Ox depart, it did bring us Barack Obama who was himself born in the Year of the Ox (Aug. 4, 1961). And like his namesake he is calm, thoughtful, is someone who takes responsibility for his actions.
Moving into the Year of the Tiger we can look forward to volatility and social upheaval. Tiger years are noted for massive change. Great—as if we haven't been through enough already. So hang onto your hats.
People born under the sign of the Tiger (this year from February 14, 2010 to February 2, 2011) are said to embody many of the characteristics of their namesake. Tigers tend to be brave, self assured and are natural leaders. They have a natural charm and charisma and are passionate and affectionate. They tend to be alert and intelligent. They have a bold instinctive nature that makes them straightforward and uninhibited.
They are also unselfish and generous but can be careless financially. Tigers also have a restless side that can express itself as rebelliousness or impulsive risk taking. They can get bored easily and are prone to acting in uninhibited and unpredictable ways. They have a sensitive nature that can turn into depression when they meet with failure.
Fortunately Tigers are resilient and will bounce back before long as they are adept at adapting to new circumstances. Looking ahead to this first Year of the Tiger of the new millennium, we can learn from the big cat to be courageous in tackling problems in a straightforward manner with passion to achieve our goals.
As long as we are careful to reign in impulsive tendencies and take risks wisely we can avoid failure and ensuing mood swings.
If we use our instincts as well as our smarts to prepare for turbulent times we should be able to have a "purr–fect" year ahead.
So look before you leap, think before you act and hang on to your sense of humor.
